When you create a backup, an error occurs and the backup
process stops. You may see one of the following messages on the screen of your
computer: "Sage Backup Error"
or "Backup failed." A user may
not be able to restore a backup created in Winzip if they are seeing the error
that their backup failed. The mistake is that in C:\Documents and Setting
instead of a folder for backup, create a folder called "Sage 50
Backup" and save your files inside it when you create your backup.

of Sage Backup Error:
If your Sage 50 Backup is getting an error, please ensure
that your backups are not larger than 10 GB.

folder, there will be no room for a new backup.

Resolving
the Backup Error within Sage:
There are multiple solutions to the problem. We will follow
them one by one. But before we begin, make sure the company file is being
accessed in Single-User Mode.
Solution
1: Backing up the file directly into a USB Flash Drive

Back up your Sage 50 data on your preferred
cloud storage provider.
· Once you are on the Bac
kup Window, change the backup location to a folder in your C: drive.
·
Click the Ok button and proceed to back up
·
See that your issue has been resolved.
Solution
2: I Don’t Have Appropriate Benefits to Create The Backup
·
Search the Sage 50 program icon on your desktop.
·
Right-click the icon and select the button Run
as administrator.
·
Recover your data when it’s lost or damaged.
·
Please follow the procedure in order to restore
your backup
·
In case this succeeds, at the point, your system
Windows has the limited Sage 50.
Important: You
must uninstall and then reinstall the Sage 50 with administrative privileges
(the same procedure to step 2), and then disable the antivirus which is running
when you re-install your Sage 50.
Solution
3: You are backing up in the Working Folder .SAJ and the file size is too large
for it:

Exit Sage 50.
·
Press the Windows+E key on your keyboard to
launch Windows Explorer.

Go to the location of the data file.
·
Open the .SAJ folders of your company file and
click on them two times successively to open their contents.
·
If you find any duplicate backups in the folder,
move them from the .SAJ folder to a different location.
·
If your backups are not being generated, head
over to the MySQL and Simple folders inside the .SAJ folder and check if you
could find any backup in there.
·
Check for any files that might be left in the
.SAJ folder to ensure that the error doesn't occur again.
·
Backup the company file once more and delete all
the old backups.
Solution
4: Backup record is saved into the folder of Program files which is limited
(Windows 8)
·
On Sage 50 backup screen.
·
Alter the backup folder location from C:\Program
files\xxx to a different folder on the desktop or either in C:\ drive.
·
Click OK.
Solution
5: Restore is Failed While Restoring The Backup Which is Created by Winzip
Application
·
Now, Un-install the file that Winzip created by
transforming the backup file back into the cab.
·
If the restore doesn't go as expected, make sure
you're backing up your files regularly.
·
You may try a different backup.
·
In case the Winzip is required, you have to
install again after this process.

6: Location of The Backup File is Indicating to A Non-existent Index/drive
·
On Sage 50 backup screen.
·
Alter the backup folder location from past
location into a new area on a network drive.
·
Click OK.
How to
Create a Backup in Sage 50
·
To make a Sage 50 backup, follow these steps:
·
Log in to the company you want to backup.
·
Make sure you’re using Sage 50 Premium or
Quantum in the single-user mode under administrator.
·
Now navigate to File and then go to Backup.
·
Find the backup icon by tapping the toolbar at
the top of your Home screen.
